By necessity we have made this hotel our home for a cumulative 3 months in the last 2 years. And they have done such a good job of making us feel welcome - thank you Sofitel staff! Always warm, always helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Delicious food, comfortable facilities, the best nights sleep one can get in Bogota.

We had a lovely stay at Sofitel in Bogotá. The location was perfect, we could walk to most of the bars and restaurants on our list. Besides that, the room was very comfortable. But what stood out the most was the crew. Our room would be tidied up and restocked twice daily, with the housekeepers bringing us tea at the end of the day. Breakfast was delicious and the crew very attentive, including Keyme, Cristian and Carolina. We also took advantage of their transportation services, mostly one night that we went to a show where leaving from was chaotic – so we called the hotel and they booked a car to come pick us up at 2 in the morning. Another time, we got in the car and asked for water, which wasn’t available – and the concierge ran in the rain to bring us water. It goes without saying they’ll go above and beyond, and we highly recommend staying here!

This place got turned into an Ibis. Unfortunately, I’ve been staying at this hotel for the past three years, even had a corporate agreement with them, but due to the systematic deterioration across all domains, was forced to cancel the affiliation and move to the Fours Seasons. In short, if you don’t want to read this post ’till the end, do not give yourself the hassle of dealing with Sofitel. For the same value, just go to the Four Seasons, sit back and relax. In virtually every stay, there were always issues that a hotel from this so called category should never incur - from the front desk persistently not having the right dates of the stay and taking forever to get it together to being assigned a different room category…all the way to not getting cold water (yes, you read it right, only boiling hot) in the shower. Don’t get me started on the difficulty to receive invoices of every stay, always supposed to be issued “automatically” by email, only never did. In several occasions, staff said the GM Mr. Nicolas Heftre would personally get in touch to show proof that mistakes have been addressed, but that never happened. I honestly think there isn’t such person by that name, never seen him circulating by the hotel not once. It goes without saying that front desk has absolutely no training and Reservation Department lead by Ms. Angela Murillo is total chaos. The latest disappointment was when I emailed Angela with the specifics of a reservation within over 10 days in advance, putting her whole team in copy. But because Angela was on vacation (note, she was in for one week after getting back from a prior vacation, then out for vacation again!), nobody took note of the matter and a series of disasters began to take place. The staff of the restaurant is only concerned about the tip, no matter the quality of the service. It’s unfortunate cause the hotel has a great location, but it will take ages, or more practically, a through reformulation of staff, starting with the highest levels who don’t seem to exist, to justify a 5 star status. Meanwhile, don’t bother, just go to the Four Seasons.

We had an amazing stay at Sofitel Bogotá—everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. The rooms were excellent, and we especially loved the cozy balcony, which made it feel even more relaxing and comfortable. The cocoa tea offered during turndown service was a really nice touch. Around the hotel was super safe with an unreal amount of restaurants and bars, an excellent area to stay! The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of high-quality options, and the amenities were top-notch. The spa, gym, and Basilic restaurant were all fantastic and really elevated the overall experience. What truly made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly. A special thank you to Alejandra Pedroza, Daniel, Karina, and Catalina for going above and beyond to make our visit so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

I had an outstanding stay at Sofitel Bogotá and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. The location felt safe and convenient, making it easy to explore the city without any stress. From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptional. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It didn’t feel transactional at all; it truly felt like they were happy to have me there, which made a huge difference to the overall experience. What really set this hotel apart though, were the small details. One moment in particular completely blew me away. I came back after a day out to find that housekeeping had placed a bookmark in my book exactly where I had folded the page. It’s such a small gesture, but it showed an incredible level of care and attention that I’ve never experienced before in any hotel. It’s these thoughtful touches that make Sofitel stand out and why I’ll always gravitate back to the brand. A genuinely memorable stay, and one I’d recommend without hesitation.
